“Block”

AR + Jewelry Design

Tools: Blender, SolidWorks, Unity

 “Block" is a wearable device that combining Jewelry with Augmented Reality (AR). The user/audience would experience the device through both physical and virtual aspects. The main goals of this project are to discover a new way of communication, along with creating a piece of decorative high-tech jewelry.

Mask

During Covid-19, people start to wear masks during daily time. 

Mask, therefore becoming the protection of human beings. While in the same time, masks also limit the communication around people. Facial expressions are blocked by the mask.

Cave Painting

The Chauvet-Pont-d'Arc Cave in the Ardèche department of southeastern France is a cave that contains some of the best-preserved figurative cave paintings in the world, as well as other evidence of Upper Paleolithic life.

Alphabets

The first pure alphabets (properly, "abjads", mapping single symbols to single phonemes, but not necessarily each phoneme to a symbol) emerged around 2000 BC in Ancient Egypt, but by then alphabetic principles had already been incorporated into Egyptian hieroglyphs for a millennium.

Sound wave

Sound is a carrier of language and is also one of the most direct ways of communication. The sound wave is the visualization of sound, and through my choice of sound waves as the inspiration for the design, the sound is expressed and presented in another way.

Mask shaped:

"Block" the traditional way of talking, offering a new solution

Fabric liked material (picture part):

The recognition picture fits in front of the mouth. Air hitting the textile simulates the wave while the user talking
